I am overly pessimistic at times, it's just my nature and with the current gloom over this period in time, there seems to be an endless stockpile of fuel to keep my pessimism simmering. .. AND Yet, I am a firm believer in wonderful and almost Utopian possibilities. Either way, I am always looking for truth and action that brings some whimsy into the darkness.
Enter SUPERFOREST.ORG, my favorite blog. Aside from being a breath of fresh air, SuperForest is "a catalogue of sustainable achievement", a testament to positive thought and action for the greater good. The "greater good" being you, me and everything in between, a community. They are revamping and expanding the notion of community and greater good and making it tangible. Along with awesome do-it yourself ideas and amusing cartoons and anecdotes, they spotlight real community projects, projects of peace, progress and balance. The site itself is a community project. It is a first stop in getting back to basics, a welcome stop in finding what it is that inspires you.
I greatly appreciate their effort, group work and nudge to participate. Their attitude of "every little counts" is genuine. Their feel good attitude is infectious, you feel good by just reading their blog! Every time I read it I feel a little smarter and safer, because someone is doing something and some times that someone is me.
After all ....
